I've been meaning to take Kyra to go visit my sister (Laura) and her family for months, but we've had challenges finding a date that works for all of us. A few days ago Laura asked if we could possibly come on Wednesday. Katie wants to go horse riding and she'd like her first experience to be with her cousin Kyra. It was odd timing because I had just explained to Kyra why I couldn't take her and Bryn horse riding on Wednesday (parents have to work). But since Laura's birthday is on Saturday, and this was a special occassion (Katie's first horse ride), I gave in. So, I took a vacation day, took the dogs to Funnybones, and we went to north Georgia.
Kyra was a good sport and didn't complain about not being able to trot or canter. I was actually surprised to hear her say that she enjoyed just walking for a change. We had a pleasant one hour ride on horses from A Step Above Stables. And loved looking at the baby foal afterwards. Great visit! We came home to find that our bushes had been butchered by the crew that installed the new curbing. And Chase and Alec's names were finger written into the drying cement; lovely. Oh well... I've never liked that bush.
