1st tennis match; mid-term blues

The first tennis match for Hanarry West girls 12 & under was today at Doublegate. Kyra refuses to wear a cute tennis skirt/outfit. Should I force her to? Thankfully she wasn't the only non-skirt-wearing girl. HW lost. Kyra played doubles with Sydney and at least they won one game! Woo hoo!

When we left the tennis courts I was starving so I decided we would get a bite to eat before going to Whole Foods. As we were driving, Kyra started crying. She was upset over losing the match and was sad that I was so disappointed in her for having a C at mid-term in Social Studies. (She has A's in all other subjects.) I'm proud of the way she played in tennis and tried to reassure her that she did well considered the few times that she's played/practiced. And we talked about how I was shocked about her social studies grade mainly because I haven't seen any grades from SS so far. I would have expected it in Language Arts since I had to sign a paper that she made a low grade on. We ate at Moe's and she perked up after our hug/talk/food. And life was even better at Whole Foods when I let her fill bags/containers from the nuts and grains dispensers. I'm glad the littlest things can still make my child happy!
