Today I'm officially 42 years young (and unofficially 29 again). Kyra's friend, Bryn, spent the night with us last night. I woke before they did. When they got up, they came straight to find me and both sang Happy Birthday to me, first words out of their mouths; how sweet! Kyra gave me a Vera Bradley tote for my birthday, which will be perfect for carrying books/magazines around (thanks Claudette).
After breakfast we went across the street to help with the neighborhood Easter Egg hunt. I had volunteered for Kyra (and now Bryn) to help hide the Easter Eggs before kids arrived while I helped Jennifer with setting up the food table. We used Karolin's yard for the little kids, and hid eggs in my yard for the 8-10 year olds. Danita was so sweet to bring me a birthday present! It was great to catch up with her life as well as chat with Jennifer, Sarah and Matt, to name a few...

Most of the afternoon was spent running errands. After the Easter Egg hunt, Kyra, Bryn and I went for emissions testing, paid taxes for car tag, went shopping for Zoe's birthday present, bought a perfect tea maker for my birthday present, etc. We walked several miles, I think, in the mall. We came home to find that our dog Riley (golden retriever), had eaten two of Kyra's brand new shoes! ARGH!!! I was so mad!!! How many times have I told her to keep her shoes out of his reach??? Kyra and Bryn promised that the shoes were in Kyra's room and that they had shut the door and insisted that Riley must have figured out how to open doors. Now that would be a first...
After dropping Bryn off at her house, Kyra wanted to take our dogs to the park. So we did, and walked two miles (two loops) around the park. It was so cool to see the baby ducklings!!! If you look closely, you can see them in the background with their mom in this photo. What a great day!
