Kyra had her second tennis match of the season at 1:30 p.m. today at Smoke Rise Country Club. I've never been there. We oohed and awhed at the gorgeous homes that line the drive into the Country Club. If I only had a spare few million dollars to spend on such extravagant homes... But Kyra pointed out that those houses would be way too big for just the two of us and our house is the perfect size. Kyra played doubles with Sophia. (This picture of Kyra and Sophia was taken in November 2008, but is one of my favorites of the two of them.) They play well together. They won two games and seemed to have fun. I enjoyed chatting with parents while we watched the girls play. Tonya and I reminisced about how funny they were when they played doubles together for the first time in the Fall 2009, and noted how much they've improved.
After tennis, we went home, had a snack, and then I walked Kyra across the street for Zoe's birthday party. They went to a laser tag place for the birthday adventure. Kyra was the oldest girl there (Zoe is 2.5 years younger), but didn't mind because she and Zoe are great friends, she knew most of the other girls and had a blast playing laser tag. (Since I seem to be in a reminiscing mode, I'm using a photo of Kyra and Zoe from May 2005, here. Weren't they cute?) I attempted to do a long run while she was gone, but the weather was bad and I just couldn't get my mind into it. I'm so glad Kyra had fun at the party!
