After already in bed last night, Kyra told me that she had left her tooth wrapped in tissue on the bathroom counter. She wondered if the Tooth Fairy would find it there or if she needed to get up and go get it to put it under her pillow. She was very tired and decided the Tooth Fairy would probably find it in the bathroom. She said she didn't care anyway if the Tooth Fairy left her anything. She'd be happy with $5 or $1 or even a nickel. She just wants braces, NOW. And losing that tooth made her eligible for braces. Now her parents just have to figure out the financing...
Thankfully, the Tooth Fairy did come last night and found the tooth where Kyra left it. The Tooth Fairy left a certificate with a note saying it's been a fun 6 years and she's going to miss coming to our house. She said to take care of those big-girl teeth since they need to work for at least 100 more years. She also left $10, maybe because Kyra's 10 years old...

Today is Riley Jackolantern's first birthday! According to my iPhone App, that means he's the equivalent of a 15-year-old. Got a teeanager on our hands... He didn't eat breakfast but seemed happy to receive his birthday rawhide. We also gave him a new toy that I'm sure he'll love as soon as he finishes this rawhide.
When I got home from work I opened the basement door and Tasha came running upstairs. Where is Riley? He was laying down and then slowly came walking up the stairs looking lethargic. Something's wrong. I put food bowls down and he didn't eat. He just laid on the kitchen floor looking sad. I called
Funnybones to see if he had been sick there or if some illness was going around. Kenya told me that he was fine/happy/playful there and she wasn't aware of any current illnesses. She said that in June there was a "kennel cough" illness going around t

hat the vaccine doesn't fight off, but she thought that was over. I explained that he had diahrea yesterday and was lethargic today and hadn't eaten. She asked me to keep her updated. Later in the evening I noticed him coughing, as if he had something stuck in his throat that he was trying to cough up. Did he eat something he shouldn't have today and it didn't go all the way down? Hopefully he'll cough it up soon. Poor baby!
