Last night as I was putting Kyra to bed, the phone rang. The phone number was "blocked" from caller ID so I didn't answer it. This morning I realized the caller had left a message. Turns out it was Kyra's basketball coach. He said that one of Kyra's teammates needed a ride to the game and he wondered if I could take her. I returned his call around 7 a.m., then called the grandmother of the teammate that needed a ride. The girl's grandfather is in the hospital. I'll be happy to be chauffeur. As soon as I got off the phone, Kyra asked who we were giving a ride to today. Let's see... I've given a ride to the coach, and now three girls on different occassions for a variety of reasons. I don't mind; am glad I can help others when needed.
I secretly hoped my good deeds would be rewarded with a win in today's game. Kyra's team hasn't won yet. But we lost again, 6 to 20. Kyra scored 2 of the 6 points. I keep scoring statistics during the game so I don't have many opportunities to take photos. I snapped a few, but none turned out exceptional. In this photo, Kyra is the girl in the white jersey, blue shorts, white knee pads on the far right of the court.
We had a pleasant afternoon of baking cookies and playing the game that Kyra got for Christmas (Last Word). Fun times...
