SNOW DAY!!!

It started snowing yesterday at about 3 p.m.  It was a very light snow. Kyra had fun playing with Zoe in the evening. We checked the news before bed, but Kyra's school wasn't listed yet for school closings. We set the alarm clock for a normal school day. As usual, Riley woke me before Kyra needed to get up this morning (at 2:30 a.m.). I took him and Tasha outside to go potty. It's SNOWING!!!  I looked on the internet and found Kyra's school system listed as closed for today. So I went into her room and turned her alarm clock off. Thankfully, she slept late.

But as soon as she woke up, after learning that school was closed, she wanted to go outside and play.  Patience!  It's 17 degrees outside!!!  We ate breakfast and she watched TV. Then she wanted to go outside and wanted me to go with her. BRRRRR.....  Did I mention it's 17 degrees?  We both bundled up and went out into the backyard. The snow was thinly layered (1/2 inch) and powdery. We tried to throw snowballs, but they fell apart mid-flight! So she wrote her name in the snow on the trampoline.

Then she had fun with agility training with Riley.  She started by creating small jumps in the yard and helping him jump over them. Then after that was mastered, she created taller jumps. After that was mastered she created a course. I watched them as I picked up limbs in the yard. We had fun!

We returned inside for a few hours for lunch/tv/etc. Then mid-afternoon she wanted to go for a walk with the dogs. So we leashed them up and out we went. It was beautiful seeing the snow in the neighbors' yards! We walked between challenges. She wanted to race to the stop sign, and she won. She asked to race to xxxxx's mailbox, and she won. I can run farther than her, but she can run faster. All in all, we had a great time!
