Happy birthday Colleen!

Long day...  I knew we would need to leave the house around 4:30 p.m. to go to basketball playoff game #2. So this morning I gave Kyra the option of riding the bus home, with me arriving about 30 minutes later, or she could go to Day Care and I'd pick her up shortly after she got off the bus there. She opted to ride the bus home and promised she'd call me as soon as she got off the bus, would change into basketball uniform, have a snack and be ready to go when I arrived home.  I left work early and was driving towards the grocery store when she called to say she had arrived home. I needed to pick up snacks for the game and told her I would be home by 4:15 p.m. I missed a call from Karolin, asking if Kyra could go over and play with Zoe. Kyra called me a few minutes after that missed call and asked if she could go to Zoe's house; there was a VERY GOOD REASON why I should let her.  She was dressed and ready for basketball, and... Zoe's dad was in a car accident today and she needed a friend. Of course I said yes, and told her that I would pick her up from Zoe's house. When I arrived, Karolin said that John was in the hospital, but would be okay. His car flipped three times; they were still doing tests, but he should be okay.

Kyra and I left a little after 4:30 p.m. to go to her basketball game.  They lost playoff #2 against Duluth with a final score of 28 to 10.  After the game, I took Allyson and Kyra to Colleen's house for Colleen's 11th birthday spend-the-night party.  I hung out for a few hours chatting with Terri and Jim, to unwind from the day. Obviously, the girls were having a blast!
