Basketball Party, Hawks game

Tonight was the End of the Season Basketball Party for Kyra's team, Parkview Panthers 4th & 5th Grade Girls.  The girls lost every game this season, with one exception of an out-of-league game that most of the girls played during a holiday weekend.  The party began at 5:30 p.m. at Pizza Cafe in Stone Mountain.  People trickled in over the next 30-60 minutes. Coach Rodney didn't make it. He called the assistant coach and said he was in Smyrna and wouldn't be able to make it in time, but would meet us at the Hawks game.  So the girls ate and passed out awards. Hannah's parents purchased trophies for the girls for winning that one out-of-league game.  I had purchased trophies for the season.  Allyson's family made certificates for all of the girls with candy attached.  They even gave one to me for being the Team Mom!  I gave an Assistant Coach's plaque to our Assistant Coach, and just held on to the coach's gift. Hannah T's dad bought mine and Kya's meal as appreciation for me being the Team Mom, how sweet!  Around 7 p.m. we all left and most people (21) went to the Atlanta Hawks vs Chicago Bulls basketball game at the Philips Arena.  We had $10 tickets, way up high. The girls had fun, and we were all thrilled that Atlanta won. What a great way to end the season, watching an amazing basketball game!
