love is in the air

I gave Kyra money to take to school to buy "candy grams" for her friends for Valentines day/week.  The student council is selling "candy grams" this week for a quarter and the proceeds go towards purchasing new Accelated Reader tests for the school library. Kyra typically enjoys reading books that unfortunately, the school doesn't have the AR tests for, so she's forced to read other books to get the mandatory AR credits.  So I gladly contributed to this fundraiser.  Kyra bought a few candy grams for her closest friends.  And despite the talk we had the night before, she bought a candy gram for one of her closest friends but had the friend's crush sign it as if he had purchased it.  She had talked about doing this the night before and I thought I had convinced her that this wasn't a good idea. How would she feel if she received a candy gram from a boy that she had a crush on, only to later find out that he didn't have a crush back?  She just wanted to make her BFF happy...
