Groundhog day, braces, last basketball game

First of all, I'd like to say Happy Birthday to my maternal grandmother, Granny. She passed on years ago, but I think of her often. It's easy to remember her birthday, which is also Groundhog's Day.

Groundhog's Day 2010 is also the day that Kyra gets her top braces!  She's been looking forward to this day for years.  She chose navy and teal rubber bands for this month.  Good choice!  She said it didn't hurt, but later in the day it did...

Kyra's last basketball playoff game was this evening. Although she was wearing a mouthguard, she got hit in the mouth and her braces caught her lip. She came off the court crying, with blood in her mouth. Poor baby! She recovered and got back in the game after rinsing her mouth out. Her team lost to Collins Hill, 18 to 3.

Well, the groundhog predicted six more weeks of winter. I was hoping that spring would be just around the corner.
