SNOW!!!
I had a fever yesterday afternoon/evening/night and went to bed early. I didn't bother to set an alarm clock. I woke up at 9:30 a.m., still not feeling well. I called and left a message with my supervisor that I was ill and would be taking a "rest day". Well obviously I was still delirious with a fever at that point. "Rest days" are days that you take a break from running. I should have said "sick day". I went back to sleep and woke again at 2:30 p.m. It was snowing! I thought about drifting back off to sleep, but realized that if it was snowing, I should probably go ahead and go now to get my race packet for tomorrow's race before the roads/traffic got too bad. I ate a bite of lunch and drove to pick up my race packet at Grace Church in Snellville. I felt better after sleeping so much! Yesterday and this morning I doubted whether I would feel well enough to race on Saturday, but opted to pick up my race packet just in case. Huge flakes of snow were falling. It was so awesome!!! After picking up my packet, I returned home and made dinner. The race volunteers said to check the website for updates in case the race would be postponed or cancelled. In the early evening, they decided to postpone the race start by two hours. It would start at 10 a.m. instead of 8 a.m. I kept an eye on the website and the news until I couldn't stay awake any longer. I set my alarm clock for 7 a.m., hoping I feel well enough to run tomorrow!
