Parent-Teacher Conference

This afternoon we had our 2nd scheduled Parent-Teacher conference of the school year. As usual, Kyra's teacher boasted about what a great student she is. All A's, above grade average, well behaved, etc. I thanked her for being such a great teacher. The only thing she commented on that needed improvement was arriving to school earlier. I thought school started at 8:50, so I've made sure she arrived by then. But as it turns out, they do work starting at 8:20 a.m. (which is the earliest that you're allowed to drop your child off). She said the early work was more geared towards giving the kids a boost that were barely scraping by, but Wednesday's were days they spent in the computer lab in the mornings so if we could get her there earlier on Wednesday's it would be appreciated. I must admit that my goal has been to get her to school closer to 8:20 than 8:50, so I can get to work closer to 9 than 10 a.m. But we haven't seemed to figure out the exact routine to make that happen. We've gotten better, but we're still not there. It seems like no matter what time I get her up, we're still leaving the house after 8:30 (and usually closer to 8:40). On the days that I make her get dressed before breakfast, that seems to get us out the door sooner.
