presentation
Despite my best efforts at attempting to get Kyra off to school early so I would arrive at my Branch meeting on time, I failed. I have meetings scheduled for all day today and tomorrow. I actually have to give a presentation at the meeting this afternoon. Thank goodness it was scheduled for the afternoon, rather than the morning! I'm a member of the Post Construction Completion Team for EPA, Region 4. We were on the schedule to give a 2-hour presentation this afternoon (1-3 p.m.). I arrived at the office around 9:30 a.m. I was frustrated that I was late, and even more so for not noting the location of the meeting beforehand. It took forever for my computer to log into the network so I could check e-mail to determine the meeting location. Anyway... The Post Construction Completion Team spent many hours last week compiling individual slides to create a cohesive presentation regarding Institutional Controls. We joked at the end of last week that maybe we should put the Powerpoint presentation on an auto-timer to keep us on track. But we didn't. I brought in left-over halloween candy to keep people awake during what some would consider a boring topic. The 6 of us presenters managed to keep on target, without an auto-timer, and we finished in 1 hour and 57 minutes. One of the Branch Chiefs commented that this was an excellent example of Time Management skills. How did we pull that one off? Why can't I get my personal life to achieve excellent time management skills? A goal to shoot for...
