It was a Saturday of all work and no fun :(Kyra told me on Monday that in addition to the 10 Accelerated Reader points that she's required to have by the end of the quarter, her gifted teacher expects that of those, at least three books are chapter books. Kyra had 9.5 points, but of those, only one was a chapter book. We have been reading a chapter book in the evenings and I told her I would find AR books from the library this week for her to choose to finish this weekend. Also, she has a Social Studies project that is due on Monday (that she's known about for weeks). So, today I made her finish the book we were reading "Runt", finish her Social Studies project, and read half of the 3rd chapter book that she selected out of the ones that I checked out of the library. She was not happy! Of course I reminded her that if she hadn't procrastinated, she wouldn't be in this predicament...
