Tasha is shedding like crazy! I spent about an hour on the deck brushing fur off her shedding body. It's a gorgeous day; sunny and in the 60s. Laura and I talked about fall marathons. We narrowed it down to three, although I'm not 100% sure she'll join me. The ones we talked about were Kiawah Island, SC, Space Coast Marathon, FL, and Outerbanks, NC. She wasn't too excited about outerbanks, but did seem interested in Kiawah and Space Coast. They all look great to me... The earliest one is in November, so we have plenty of time to decide.

This afternoon was Kyra's basketball team's end-of-the-season celebration party. I had collected money from parents and purchased basketballs and gift certificates for the coaches. I had the girls come into the women's restroom and sign the balls and cards. I think the coaches liked their gifts. I was totally shocked when they gave me a gift card for keeping the team score book all season. I certainly didn't expect anything. I enjoyed doing it. It kept me more focused on the game than I would have been sitting on the sideline chatting with other parents. When Coach Stoner presented trophies, he said something about each child before announcing her name. For example, Grace really came a long way and turned into an amazing rebounder. Alex was shy in the beginning, but by the end, she could make a free-throw. Gracie showed team sportsmanship by coming to all the games despite the fact that she couldn't play in most of them due to broken teeth and then a broken finger (neither basketball related). For Kyra, he said, "I thought I was going to have to call an ambulance at each game for this girl..." We all laughed and knew exactly who he was talking about. It seemed like she was injured in one way or another in each game.
The slice of BBQ chicken pizza and small greek salad that I had was delicious. We'll definitely have to return to the Pizza Cafe. I used to love The Loop's BBQ chicken pizza and was so disappointed when they went out of business. I enjoy pizza at Bambinelli's, but their BBQ chicken is not quite top notch (their vegetarian is yummy though). Great season Team Dynomite!
