3 girls sleep with 2 dogs

Kyra, Bryn, Sophia and the two dogs (Tasha and Riley) all slept in Kyra's full-sized bed last night. Riley normally wakes me up between 5 and 6 a.m., but since he was locked in Kyra's room, he woke them instead. And of course, three little girls once woken, must stay awake. ARGH!!! This means they only got about 6 hours of sleep.... bummer... this is going to be a long day...

So, since we were all up, when the girls started playing Rock Band, I told them I was going to go for a jog around the block. I had my cell phone with me in case of emergency. When I returned, Sophia asked how far I went (3+miles) and said I was fast. Guess she lost track of time. I then made breakfast and as we were eating, someone saw a dog on our front porch. I went outside and we caught it, and I had Kyra go back inside to get the phone. I called the number on the tag and the guy that answered asked, "How did he get over there?"... DUH... I don't know how he escaped from YOUR YARD; I just found him on my porch! So I gave the guy my address and he said he'd be right over. The dog was large (tall), but thin with scrapes on his back so I had guessed he'd scraped himself escaping from a fence and had possibly been out for days since he was so thin. He didn't eat the food that Kyra brought out, but did drink the water. The owner drove up about 10 minutes later and took the dog home. He said the dog was in the yard a few hours ago and wasn't sure how he escaped...

By this time, I still hadn't showered or finished eating breakfast, but it was time to go to Kyra's riding lesson. (I had told the girls to go inside and get dressed while I waited for the dog's owner.) As soon as the dog was picked up, we loaded into the car and left for Kyra's horse riding lesson. Sophia and Bryn wanted to take home a kitten. They tried to convince me that their moms had agreed to let them take one home, but I knew better. I sent a text to Lisa and she said, "NO WAY". After the riding lesson, we stopped at Chick-fil-A for an early lunch, then back home to pack the girls' stuff. I took Sophia home first, and she told her mom that I ran 3 miles in 10 minutes this morning! It was actually more than 30 minutes, but I guess time flies when you're having fun! Next, we took Bryn home. Lisa invited us over later for swimming/dinner.
We went home and I made Kyra read. She has to take her first AR test soon and isn't close to finished with her first Harry Potter book. She read quietly in her room and I suspected that she had fallen asleep, but was wrong. After reading for over an hour, she got up to work on some homework. I called Lisa and they were napping, but she invited us to come over around 5:30 p.m. We arrived around 6, after Kyra finished her homework, and Lisa was at the grocery store and Bryn was still asleep. Gary woke Bryn up and Lisa arrived shortly afterwards. The girls eventually got in the pool and Kyra threw the tennis ball with their dog Luke. I enjoyed hanging out with Lisa. She's planning to do a triathlon on 9/19 and her long-term goal is an Ironman triathlon by the time she's 50. What an awesome goal! We had an amazing dinner of steak, potatoes, asparagus, salad and watermelon! We left around 9:30 p.m., totally exhausted. What a great day!
