5th grade field trip and hatching ducks

Today was the long awaited, much anticipated, 5th grade field trip to the Georgia Aquarium, Centenial Olympic Park, and the Coca-Cola museum. They took chartered buses from the school to downtown Atlanta. Kyra's been looking forward to this trip for years...

Kids were allowed to bring cameras and these are just a few of the photos that came home on Kyra's. I was impressed with her creativity! Looks like they had a lot of fun!

Parents were supposed to pick up kids at 3:45 p.m. but I had a mid-afternoon meeting. So a few days ago I started making phone calls. Mrs. Jones sweetly agreed to let Kyra hang out with her and Allyson after the field trip at the school until I could get there. In this last picture, Kyra and Allyson are wearing their matching turtle necklaces that they bought at the aquarium. We're so glad Mrs. Jones agreed to keep Kyra after school. When I arrived at the school, Kyra and Allyson were watching baby ducks hatch in one of the 2nd grade class rooms. What an amazing day!!!
