Prior years have included going to Bryn's house on the last day of school for a fun afternoon of swimming and celebrating. But this year a bigger party brewed. Sophia invited about 20 kids to their lake house today to celebrate finishing elementary school. Tonya asked me to come too, so I gladly took a vacation day to join in the party. A few other moms stayed too. What an amazing day we had! The first photo shows most of the kids jumping into the pool together.
After everyone arrived, we went down to the dock. Sophia's dad and older brothers took the kids for boat and jetski rides.
The remaining kids had fun jumping off the second story dock into the lake while they were waiting their turn for a ride. Pictured here are Colleen (lower) and Kyra holding hands as they are jumping into the lake.
While the kids were at the lake, I spent a lot of the time on the dock keeping an eye on everyone. But as I got hotter, I jumped in the lake with a life jacket to supervise from the water. Ahhh, refreshing! Pictured here are Colleen, Bryn and Kyra, floating in the lake in their life jackets. (Thanks, Terri, for sharing your photos!) Wow, life is good!
Mid afternoon we returned to the house for burgers, beans, etc. Yum! Then the kids alternated between the pool and volleyball court. What an amazing day! We are so blessed to have such amazing friends!
