We slept late this morning. After breakfast, it was too late to make it to church, so we climbed back into my bed to continue reading
The Princess School: Princess Charming. My original plan was church, lunch at Mah Jong (our favorite chinese restaurant), swim lessons, then more reading. It started raining on Friday and hasn't stopped. So, I guess if we had to pick a weekend full of school work, this would be the right one. Although we didn't make it to church, we decided to still follow through with the rest of the planned day. Kyra went ahead and put on her swimsuit under sweats before going to lunch in case we ran late. We sat at a booth at the window during lunch. Near the end of the meal, we noticed it had begun snowing. We finished eating and went outside to find it was more like
slushing, but hey, that's exciting too!

I was worried that Kyra wouldn't want to go to swim lessons since it is snowing, but she still wanted to go and said that way, maybe some snow would stick to the ground while she's swimming. We picked up Leah, from down the street, and I took them both to Mountain Park Aquatic Center for their swim lessons. Kyra said it was a hard work out, but she did learn things to help her technique. Silly Leah was wearing shorts! I stayed to watch the lesson from the inside bleachers. It was snowing the entire time, but towards the end of their lesson, huge flakes began to fall. WOW! It was beautiful!
Leah had invited us to go sledding with her after swim practice. We dropped her off at her house and then went home to get ready. Before I could get Kyra in

to the house, she was busy catching snow flakes and making snow angels. I talked to Susan, Leah's mom, and she said they'd be ready to go at 3:30 p.m. She suggested we take separate cars because Leah may have more staying power than Kyra. Kyra was bummed that we had to wait 45 minutes for them, but I told her she needed a snack and that she could play in the snow in our yard while we waited.
The snow was falling quite hard at th
is point. We left home at 3:25 p.m. and followed Leah and Keith to Stone Mountain. We went to the hill behind the hotel at Stone Mountain. There were a few people there already. Leah had two sleds. One was much better than the other. The girls had a gre

at time, and Keith and I even took a few turns. It was the most fun when we doubled up on a sled. The added weight made it go much faster. I took so many photos and a few videos that I'm having a hard time deciding which ones to pick to place in this blog. I think I will call this quits, and add a video. We had a great time, sledding until about 5:30 p.m.
Afterwards, Kyra and I went to Stone Mountain Pizza Cafe for dinner. Although the food was great, we were both wet and freezing. We eventually made it back home, took long hot showers, and then enjoyed hot chocolate while we read more. What a great day!
