April is a busy month for fourth graders! Last week was Spring Break; yippee! And the kids get to come back to five days of CRCT testing, which starts tomorrow and ends the following Monday. The Room Mom is responsible for ensuring the class has snacks on testing days. Later in the month the Room Mom has to coordinate lots of parental help with "Pioneer Day". Because so much work is involved with Pioneer Day events, I opted to simply take care of the CRCT snacks myself and plead for help from other parents later on Pioneer Day activities.
After a full day of business meetings, I left the office an hour early to pick Kyra up to go shopping. Thank goodness for Costco! I bought apples, grapes, pretzels, cheez-its, nuts, zip-lock bags, and peppermints in bulk! Now for the math portion of the CRCT snack test: If there are 17 students that need snacks on five days, and there are 300 soft peppermint balls in a large tub, what is the maximum number of peppermints that each child should be given each day to keep from having to make another trip to Costco? Answer options: a) one, b) twenty-seven, c) three, d) none, give them all to Papa because they are one of his favorite snack foods.
