Cool lighting; Family fun night

Tonight is "Family Fun Night" at Kyra's school. They charge $3 per person and have inflated bounce houses and slides, as well as limbo contests, dunking contests, face painting, etc. We had planned to meet Kyra's friend, Ally, there with her family and Ally will be going home with us afterwards to spend the night. It started at 6 and they would be selling pizza. However, since Kyra's tummy is sensitive to pizza, we opted to eat at home before going. After dinner, I asked Kyra to send the dogs outside while I got ready to go. She called me to come downstairs, saying there was something I had to see. I just assumed Riley had destroyed something new. However, Kyra had me stand in a particular spot and look up at the trees. She said that the lighting through the leaves and spotlighting the insects was amazing. And wow was she right! I returned upstairs to get the camera. This photo doesn't do it justice, but it was an amazing sight. In this photo, I caught the sun between the tree and one of its branches.

We enjoyed visiting with people I haven't seen in a while at Family Fun Night. I caught up with Merrilee, whom I knew from our neighborhood pool, and who I recently found out knew my sister from college. It was also great seeing her husband, as well as Shannon, Ed, John, Matthew, Cara, and others. Now we're back at home. Kyra and Ally are playing Rock Band on the wii as I type. Kyra's begging me to come play the guitar to complete the band, so I'll stop here for now.
