April Fools

Thanks Bob, for buying me lunch today in honor of my birthday last week! It was yummy!

Amber cleans my house about once every 3 weeks, although with Riley making such a huge mess, I should probably increase the frequency to every 2 weeks! Today was the day for her to clean. I always love coming home to a clean house! I just wish it would stay that way for more than a few minutes...

As soon as I picked Kyra up from day care, she started asking me if I had any April Fool's jokes planned for her. I told her that I didn't and she was disappointed. She told me that her dad had wrapped the toilet paper roll in her bathroom (at his house) with saran wrap as his April Fool's joke on her this morning. At least he was kind enough to include a dollar bill in it too! I'm not as much of a prankster as he is so I hadn't really put too much thought into planning any pranks. When we got home, for the first time in days it wasn't raining. I haven't mowed the grass in weeks and it looks like a jungle. So, I told Kyra to do her homework while I mowed the grass. When I was finished, I came inside, washed my hands and began to think about what to make for dinner. Kyra came into the kitchen, hugged me and said "You STINK! You need to take a shower!" I acknowledged that she was right; I did get a little sweaty mowing the yard. So I decided to take a shower while the rice was cooking. I turned on the shower and when I opened the curtain I noticed that the soap was missing from the soap dish. Since Amber had cleaned today, I thought that she probably put it somewhere while cleaning and just didn't replace it. So I looked in the cabinet to get another bar. When I opened the cabinet, I saw the used bar sitting on top of the new box of soap. I didn't think much about it, other than it was odd that Amber would have put a used bar of soap in the cabinet. Anyway, after my shower I returned to the kitchen to finish making dinner. Kyra asked how my shower was and I told her that I felt much better now. Then she asked if I found the soap... It turns out, that her April fools joke on me was hiding the soap while I was mowing the grass. Ha ha ha!
