Blue Ridge marathon

This morning I ran the hardest run that I have ever completed in my life (Blue Ridge Marathon)!  Click here for a link to my running blog which showcases the race with lots of photos. It was so hard, yet so rewarding. I loved almost every minute of it. Lots of photos and details can be found in my running blog.

After the 26.2 mile race, I returned to the Rose Hill B&B and climbed into the giant claw-footed tub. OUCH, I have chafing that I hadn't expected. The sting didn't last long and then I enjoyed the long soak in the tub.

A few hours later I was hungry and Wendy recommended Wild Flour resturant. It is within walking distance. At first I didn't really want to walk, then I thought that it would probably do my body good. I ordered a salad with sour ginger dressing and soy-glazed salmon, which came with grilled asparagas and a beans/rice medley. The food was AMAZING! What a perfect dinner after such a perfect day!

After eating, I walked back to the B&B. I chatted with others on the porch as we compared racing stories. Two other couples are staying here; one newlyweds. The wives ran the half-marathon while the husbands cheered them on. We chatted for a little over a half-hour and I found myself drifting off. I would have loved to chat longer, but the bed was calling. Night night! What a perfectly amazing/rewarding day!
