Today is Tasha's birthday. She's ~6 years young now. This photo was taken the day after we adopted her and had to return to Pet'sMart to buy more supplies. We don't really know for sure how old she is/her birthday, but we proclaimed 4/27 as her birthday and were told when we adopted her that she was 2 years old. I can still remember the day we adopted her, in April 2006. We went to Pet'sMart to buy cat food and came home with a dog, dog supplies (and cat food). We had been talking about getting a dog for a few weeks, but hadn't decided on what type. Yet while we were at PetsMart, Tasha (then known as Polynesia) spoke to us. She was so affectionate and loved Kyra immediately.
The woman said she had just been saved from euthansia, that she had been picked up by animal control and no one had claimed her. The woman said she was a day away from death when she rescued her. That day was her first day at PetsMart looking for a family to adopt her. Little did I know then that she loves EVERYBODY. I thought then that it was a special bond with Tasha and Kyra, but now I know differently, that she loves almost all people. Regardless, she's been a healthy addition to our home, gets lots of attention from others, and we're happy to celebrate her 4 years with us. Her only flaw? She digs deep holes in the back yard...
