Today was scheduled to be
Field Day for 3rd - 5th graders. As we were getting ready for school/work this morning, Kyra asked if she could wear a pair of my running shoes instead of hers. She said hers were still wet and muddy from playing outside with Zoe yesterday. At first I said no, then gave in. I remember picking up her shoes before we left the house, and setting them somewhere... I think I left them in the laundry room... Unfortunately, I must have left the laundry room door open... When I arrived home from work this evening, Riley greeted me with one of Kyra's Nike's in his mouth. ARGH!!! As soon as I told him to "drop it", he did. At first I was optimistic because I only noticed shredded laces, which can cheaply be replaced. But then I walked into the dining room to find the evidence of the insole that he had removed and shredded as well. I'm sure she'll be happy since she also complained that they were "too heavy" to run in anyway... And I guess this means one fewer pair of shoes to be cluttering up the house... In case you're wondering,
Field Day was rescheduled for Monday, 11/2, since it rained today. Hopefully I'll get happier photos on Monday of Kyra's last
Field Day of Elementary school.
