I went to my 2nd physical therapy appointment this morning. He had me do very light exercises, squats on the total gym, almost horizontal, and then 12 minutes of biking. I could feel pain all along the outside of my left upper leg while on the bike. He suspects that in addition to tendonitis, I have hamstring sprain. Oh joy! I finished the limited session with electrical stimulation and ice, which is the absolute best part of physical therapy! Maybe next week will be better :-/
Kyra had to be at school early this morning because she was selected to help with the "little kids" (kindergarten through 2nd grade) Field Day. 5th graders with high grades and E's for behavoir get selected each year to assist in this event. She was excited about doing this. I worked from home today and went to have lunch with her. She said she helped with the "basketball station" this morning. She said there is a 1st grader that looks just like her cousin Katie, except with longer hair. We saw this girl a few days ago in car rider line and I thought it was Katie at first. Wow! Normally at lunch the kids are quite chatty, but today they were pretty quiet and droopy. They said they were exhausted from helping with Field Day. Apparently it took a lot more physical effort than they anticipated; they had to lift small children onto the balance beam, chase after run-away-balls, etc.
Kyra rode the bus home from school. As habit has been lately, Zoe came over shortly after they got off the bus and she and Kyra played together outside while I continued working. When Zoe had to leave, Kyra and I went shopping for supplies for her

Social Studies project. She had to make a diorama of a scene during the civil war. Before we went to
Michaels, she had one idea in mind for her diorama, but it morphed as we couldn't find the specific items that would mesh with her original idea. We returned home after purchasing supplies for her project and ordered
pizza since I still had work to complete and didn't want to take the time to cook. That turned out to be the best decision of the evening, because after she completed her diorama, she needed something to stabilize the lid/shoebox and the top of the pizza box was the perfect solution. She decided to do a scene of Indians waiting on a farm by a railroad to raid a train. It was complete with farm animals, moss as grass, birds and flowers. She's disappointed that she built the railroad wrong; the cross-ties should have been below the "rails". Oh well, I thought it looked good. Hope she gets an A.
