Happy 11th birthday Kyra! I only worked for a few hours this morning and took the rest of the day off as vacation. I picked up 2.5 dozen "hot, fresh, now" doughnuts from
Krispy Kreme for Kyra's class and burritos from
Moes for Kyra's and my lunch. There are 25 kids in her class, and her bestest buddies aren't in her class, so I bought the 5 extra to give to her friends in other classes. Midway through lunch, I distributed the doughnuts to her classmates and then to her friends that were still in the cafeteria. That was the tough part... it was an easy decision of who to give them too, but other kids that I knew looked at me with longing faces wishing they were receiving a doughnut too. Wish I had bought 300...

Kyra rode the bus home from school and played with Zoe for an hour or so. Later we met our bestest friends at
Carrabba's for Kyra's birthday dinner. This is her favorite restaurant. It seemed like just yesterday the seven of us were dining in Chicago... They brought a gift for Kyra to the restaurant. I said they shouldn't have and Ty said that it was from Natalie, who didn't come to Kyra's party. This gift turned out to be one of the best gifts that Kyra received for her birthday. Kyra received lots of great gifts at her birthday party: iTunes gift cards, Breyer horses, Nintendo DS games, etc. But Na

talie's gift to Kyra was very unique, one-of-a-kind, can't be found in a store, hand-made, and so totally awesome!!! She made Kyra's American Girl Doll (that we bought in Chicago) a Georgia Tech dress and shoes out of duct tape! Nattie is so creatively amazing!!! (And her dad is a big UGA fan.) We're so greatful that Lisa, Ty, Bryn, Sophia and Natalie could join us for dinner tonight! Thanks for helping make Kyra's 11th birthday extra special!
