Making a slow running comeback

With my physical therapist permission, I started slowly jogging again last week. I did 2.05 miles on Tuesday, 3.11 miles on Thursday, 4.07 miles on Saturday and 1.67 miles on Sunday. I had very minor pain on the first day, but none on the last day. Yay! So I created a running plan to get me slowly up to where I need to be to start a training plan for a Spring marathon. Laura says she wants to run her first marathon in the spring... We talked about a few options... She wants to do ING in Atlanta because it's so close (little travel), but I'd rather do the inaugural marathon in Wrightsville Beach, NC because it's flat and in my "home away from home". (I spend a lot of time there on business trips.) The marathon in Atlanta is hilly and since I run here all the time, I'd rather go somewhere else. But to be honest, my first choice is the Yakima River Canyon marathon in Washington state because it's on my birthday. But there is no way that Laura will travel there and I'm not honestly sure I can afford it either. I think I convinced her to do Wrightsville Beach, but we'll see... I need to check in with the race director for Wrightsville Beach to see if he'd recommend it as a first marathon. I doubt it will have as much crowd support as Atlanta, but will definitely be an easier course to run (as far as hills go). I'm just glad I can run, slowly, again. I did an easy 4.03 miles in the rain this morning and it felt good!
