Brrrrr

When I picked Kyra up from day care, she gave me a card that she had made this afternoon. It had a fold-out m&m and said that this was a sweet treat for me because (1) I work hard at running, (2) I have always loved her, (3) I'm the best mom in the whole world. How sweet!

I wore a fleece while blue Kyra is shivering in the pool at swim practice. She's the little chicklet in the farthest lane in this picture. She slowly got into the cold water to swim with her teammates. At least she dealt with it better than some and stayed in through the end. She even asked if she could dive off the diving board after practice was over, so I guess that means she had fun. Afterwards, I talked to her babysitter/assistant swim coach (girl in purple shirt standing at the end of the pool). Kyra pleaded with me to go out to dinner or go play tennis or go to book club or leave town so Madelyne could babysit her. I'm so grateful that Kyra so adores the best babysitter ever! Madelyne will be a senior next year, and Kyra will be a senior of elementary school. Wow has time flown by...

As we left the pool, Lori was driving down the pool drive-way and stopped to chat. She said that she just told her daughter that Riley is the puppy of her dreams. I offered him to her free of charge and said he's only cost me about $20,000 this year. I hope she knew that I was just joking about giving him away... If he weren't so cute and if Kyra wasn't so attached then maybe I would. Here he is dirtying my freshly made bed. Nothing stays clean in this house for very long.
