Tiger; rose; travel

Hmmm.... it looks like Kyra took a photo of Tiger with the camera while I was busy making breakfast this morning...

She was telling me this morning how she "needed" her own. I told her that she was welcome to use the "family camera" any time. Then she said that she wanted to take a camera with her to camp this summer, so did this mean she could take the "family camera"? Since we only have one, I told her that at a minimum, I would buy a disposable camera for her to take to camp. She wasn't thrilled, but quit arguing.

Today was "bring a flower to your teacher day" for Teacher Appreciation Week. Kyra snipped the best two roses off our rose bush to take to Mrs. Walker. After taking her to school, I returned home to finish packing for my business trip. On my way to leave, I decided to snip a rose and put it in a coke bottle to take with me to Wilmington. We have quite a few on the bush that will be dropping petals soon, so I thought it would be wise to enjoy one on my trip.

I had to give a presentation to the Assitant Division Director this morning before leaving town. The meeting was originally scheduled for 9 a.m., but was post-poned until 11 a.m. My presentation was well received and my bosses boss asked me to send him the file so he could request others in our office to use it as an example. I obliged, but must admit that I was a bit embarrassed to read his email to the group saying that "at risk of Samantha being thought of as the 'teacher's pet'..." But on the other hand, I was proud that the hour that I put into putting that presentation together was well received.

I drove to Wilmington this afternoon, but didn't arrive until after 9 p.m. I had forgotten to pack running socks, so I stopped at Target to buy some. Of course I couldn't resist the Carolina-blue running skirt too. After shopping, I ate dinner and then checked into my hotel. While at a non-Mexican resturant, I told the waitress that obviously I'm way too old to be out celebrating Cinco de Mayo. What a long day...
