Princess for an hour

I worked from home today. Just before I planned to leave to take Kyra to school, the air duct cleaning guy arrived. He said he'd wait for me to return. He started setting up while I fired up my laptop. After he removed the return vents, he showed me the gunk clogging them. Wow, what a lot of fur/lint/etc. I worked away on my laptop while he cleaned the ducts. Thankfully he finished a few minutes before I had to leave.

Kyra's teacher had planned a luncheon for the mom's that had helped so much throughout the school year. Five of us were to arrive at 12:30 p.m. I was the first mom there. I knocked on the door, but no one answered. I thought I heard a faint "come in", so I opened the door and was awed. The lights were out, but candles were lit on the table and soft music was playing. I didn't see anyone inside, and since I was a few minutes early, I thought I must have just been imagining hearing "come in". But as I walked out the door, Inaara and Savannah came running to the door from the inside, as Inaara's mom was arriving. Inaara and Savannah were trying to surpirse us... Savannah's mom arrived a few minutes later. It was magical! There were flowers, candles, soft music, Princess table setting including Princess goblets. And we each had place-setting name plates, created by our daughters. Kyra made mine "Princess Kewl". How cute! The flowers were in separate pots for each mom and all were signed by each student. And the children had written thank you notes to us as well. I had tears welling up at how sweet this was. It made all the work that I put in this year totally worth it. HOW SWEET!
