I went to Stone Mountain for another 5-miler this morning. Last week I jogged it in 1 hour and 5 seconds and was totally bummed that I didn't squeeze out those extra seconds to get it done in less than an hour. So today my goal was 59:59 or less. I started out faster than intended since the first mile is downhill. I did the first mile in 9:57 minutes, which is my fastest mile pace this year! I finished the 5-mile hilly loop in 58 minutes and 2 seconds; 2 minutes and 3 seconds faster than last week. YIPPEE!!! But, I forgot to pack a towel for the car. I didn't want to get in the car all sweaty, so I refilled my water bottle, walked up the mountain a bit and found a shady spot to cool down. On Monday I was introduced to a friend of friends. He called while I was running and I let it go to voicemail. I returned his call while lying in the shade on the side of the mountain. He invited me to dinner with his kids to celebrate his daughter's 14th birthday. I wasn't really comfortable with that, not wanting to intrude on her birthday celebration having never met her, so I suggested that maybe he and I have lunch one day next week. Then I looked at Twitter and Facebook on my iPhone. I updated my status on Facebook and my cousin Rusty wrote that I should post photos. THANKS for the reminder! Photos make blogs much more interesting. I snapped a few photos with my iPhone of me lying on the rock, and a tree in the sunlight. I was tempted to lie there all day, but my belly told me to find a bathroom.

After a potty stop, I went home and mowed the lawn and then laid on the couch watching movies all day. I have tons of housework that needs to be done, so I felt a little guilty, but I honestly needed the rest. I can't remember the last time that I just laid around and watch movies for hours.
I miss Kyra so much already. I called her this evening to tell her about how Riley tried to "shake" when I simply went to lift his paw to put the harness on. She said she was having fun on her vacation. I told her that Colleen got a new puppy and that hopefully she'd get to meet him soon.
