Hanarry West swam against a better team this week, at their pool (Brightwater), for our 4th of 6 swim meets. Our team (Hanarry West) lost and Kyra didn't place first like she usually does, but she did her best. Brightwater is undefeated. Kyra's primary competitor on the other team looked like she was 12 years old. She's a good bit taller than Kyra which I'm sure helps her time. Plus Kyra learned and told me later that the girl swims year round. No wonder! Tonight was only the 3rd time in Kyra's life that she's swam the Individual Medley and she improved her time slightly. For the past few weeks I've written Kyra's name on her right shoulder (as most people do so the timers know the child to associate the time with) and "Fly Girl" on her left shoulder, since that is her specialty. Tonight several girls walked past us as we arrived and said "Hey Fly Girl". The nickname is catching on...25-yard free-style = #3 overall, #1 for HW
