rest day

I had planned to get up early this morning for my "long run" of the week. But I was so tired that I went back to bed after feeding the dogs. I didn't wake up again until after 11 a.m.! I felt so much better. I've been exhausted all week! Tomorrow was supposed to be my "rest day", so I'll call today my "rest day" and do my "long run" tomorrow.

I got up, showered, ate a sandwich and went to Fleet Feet to buy a new pair of running shoes. They didn't have my size in the style that I wanted but said they'd order a pair for me. Then I stopped at Whole Foods for fresh produce. I LOVE THIS STORE!!! I probably bought way more than I can eat, but couldn't resist so much fresh fruits and vegetables and seafood.

Joe's Aunt Jennie called me around 5:45 p.m. to let me know that they had dropped the kids off at camp. Kyra easily passed her horse riding test as well as the swim test. Jennie said Kyra swam better than any other kid there. She was very complimentary about how beautiful, sweet and talented Kyra is. She hasn't seen Kyra in years so I'm glad they had some time together. I was grateful for her call and compliments. She sent me this photo later of Kyra, Grace and Liam at the lake at the camp.

This evening I cooked fresh sea scallops in olive oil and garlic and had steamed broccoli as a side dish. Delicious!
