National Running Day! I ran on the treadmill because I wasn't sure how my scraped leg and knees would feel. I achieved my goal of 4 miles. Leg/knees hurt a little, but not nearly as bad as on Sunday and Monday. Glad it's healing! Did you get your run in? Hope so!Kyra's been with her dad all weekend and the last few days. When I picked her up from Day Care this afternoon, the first thing she said was, "Look at my leg!". And she showed me a scraped left shin and knee. With a look of shocked surprise, I said, "Look at my leg, we match!" It was so weird! She then told me that she was running at Day Care on Monday, twisted her ankle and fell on the concrete scraping her leg. I told her my story. Since we were standing in the parking lot comparing wounds, Mickie came out and asked what I did to my leg. I explained and we marveled at the coincidenc
e of Kyra's similar injury.
We went out for dinner tonight. Kyra has wanted to go to Carrabba's for weeks now and I've put her off because it's expensive. But tonight I felt like celebrating the completion of my presentation and the end of the school year. Plus, I like for us to go out to eat when she's been away for several days so we can catch up on each other's lives rather than me having to go home and cook. We talk more while dining out than we do while I cook at home. Of course several people noticed our legs and were surprised by our story. I'm so sorry I passed along my clumsiness gene to you, Kyra!
After dinner we went home
, fed the animals, and loaded Riley into the car to go to our first Intermediate dog training class. There was only one other dog there tonight, so Kyra/Riley got a lot more one-on-one attention. Afterwards, Kyra said the training was harder, but interesting. Riley wasn't as motivated as usual and I wondered if it was because he just ate dinner an hour ago so the treats were less appealing. the trainer suggested we wait until after training to feed him and bring higher value treats to training such as hot-dogs or baked chicken. Add that to the grocery list... When we were walking to the car after the training session, the moon was amazing as it shown through the clouds. I wished I had my camera with me and then Kyra reminded me that I had a camera on my cell phone. As we stood there, an occassional lighting bolt would pass through the clouds near the moon. I tried to get a photo, but I just couldn't time it right. Anyway, here's a wonderful view of the night.
